County Antrim will have five qualifiers competing in the joint British Isles Championships to be held at Stanley IBC from Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th March 2011.
In the mens events Martin McHugh and Neil Booth will compete in the pairs where they will come up against the English duo of Neil Karge & Mark Nanson in the preliminary round.
Also through in the mens events are the Senior Fours rink of William McCandless, Jim Kane, James Caldwell, Roy McCune. They though have avoided the prelimary round game and will come up against the English four of Brian Hutchinson, Jim Maddison, Ken Peters & Bill Maddison in the Semi-Final.
The Ladies's Championships sees both Muriel Wilkinson and Barbara Cameron though in two events. They will compete together in the pairs where they come up against Julie Sword & Lyn Stein from Scotland in the Semi Final, before teaming up with Wilma Adair and Olive Paisley to try and also bring home the rinks title. The four also enter at the Semi-Final stage where they will face Gwen De La Mare, Jean Simon, Sally Paul & Shirley Petit from the Channel Islands.
The final Ladies hopeful will be Erin Smith who will face up against Channel Islands' Lianna Bichard in the Semi-Final of the Ladies Junior Singles.
